The board discussed advisory committees that provide feedback on parks and recreation, public works, finance and other township matters. Members noted inconsistent operating procedures, unclear terms for members, and missing meeting requirements across committees.
Erin McDonough raised concerns about the process for a shared management plan for Gull Harbor Road, saying that limited public input in past drafting had reduced transparency and urged the township to allow more opportunities for public comment. The board accepted the feedback and McDonough offered assistance in drafting the operating charters.
On a motion by McDonough, seconded by Peirano, the board resolved to recreate operating charters describing committee roles, advisory status, term renewal processes and meeting expectations; the resolution will be brought for board consideration at a special meeting later in July. The minutes list the committees to be covered and state the motion carried.
