Commission recommends plan of services for annexation after corrected public notice

Staff told the commission that the map published with the June public notice did not highlight tax map 80 parcel 705 (the DeVore property), although that parcel is part of the annexation and the plan of services. To ensure affected property owners could comment, staff republished the notice with the corrected map and placed the item on the July planning commission agenda so the commission could consider the corrected materials.

Staff said the republication "will not affect the timing of the item moving forward to BOMA" and confirmed the Board of Mayor and Aldermen public hearing is scheduled for August 11. Staff recommended that the planning commission recommend approval of Resolution 2026-48 to BOMA; no members of the public offered comments at the commission meeting. The commission moved, seconded and voted unanimously to recommend the resolution to BOMA.

The republication corrects the published map so that the DeVore property is explicitly included in the annexation and plan of services; the issue was therefore handled administratively before the item moves to the Board.
