Board previews accessible design for Holland Lake Park ahead of fall construction

Staff presented a conceptual design for Holland Lake Park focused on universal access, saying the plan will allow visitors using wheelchairs to reach most features, including the park tower.

"This is the idea of this park is really be an all accessible, all inclusive park," the presenter said, asking the board for feedback on color palettes and other finishes. Staff said they will email a color palette for board review and requested feedback.

Construction for the Holland Lake work was described as likely beginning in the fall or winter; staff characterized the park as a larger-scale, inclusive facility not currently represented elsewhere in nearby towns. No funding action was taken at the meeting; staff are seeking design input and will return with more-detailed materials.
