Park events and volunteer efforts drew thousands this quarter, staff says

Staff reviewed the department’s event portfolio and community programming, reporting that Park in the Park drew roughly 10,000 people and that certain concerts attracted several thousand attendees.

"We had roughly 10,000 people with the park in the park," the presenter said when summarizing the large community event, and later described concerts and film nights that drew sizable crowds. Staff also detailed volunteer programs (about 20 volunteers for a townwide cleanup) and regular food-park nights that rely on vendor permitting and coordination with public safety.

Board members asked about sponsorships and marketing; staff said Rachel and Michael on the special-events team handle sponsorship packages and outreach. No objections or formal citizen comments were recorded during the meeting.
