Ogema board moves to advertise bids to remove Diessner property after raze deadline

The Ogema Town Board voted at a June 29 special meeting to advertise for bids to remove the Diessner/Iron Coach property after town staff reported owners had until June 29, 2026 to comply with a raze order. Board Chair Lars said the town will proceed with cleanup and may pursue a civil judgment or place the cleanup cost on the property tax roll if owners do not comply.

Dean moved to advertise for full removal bids to be opened at the next meeting; Peggy seconded and the motion carried. The item had been tabled at the board's regular June 15 meeting pending the June 29 deadline. The vote formally authorizes procurement activity to solicit contractor proposals for demolition and removal, with a subsequent meeting to consider bids and next steps.
