President details new White House ballroom and security upgrades

The President described renovations and new construction at the White House, including what he called a "highly protected ballroom" with thick windows and complex underground facilities. "We're building something that's gonna be amazing," he said, adding the work was "moving fast," on schedule and "right on budget."

He framed the project partly as a security response following the prior attack and said the space was intended for future use by visitors and events. The President also spoke humorously about the design, the chandeliers and the ballroom's perceived prestige, and suggested it would be heavily used by others after completion.
