President lashes out at press, calls coverage 'fake news' while congratulating award winners

The President used much of his address to criticize the press, repeatedly using the phrase "fake news" and naming individual journalists. "We attack and I thought Caitlin had really made it big... but it was a fake," he said while addressing coverage of awards.

Despite the criticism, the President also congratulated several award recipients and said, "I wanna personally congratulate CNN's Caitlin Collins on receiving her award," and told the assembled press he believed in the free press while disputing specific coverage and asserting he had been treated unfairly in prior coverage.
