Canaan Board of Education appoints Jill E. Johnson as Lee H. Kellogg principal

The Canaan Board of Education voted unanimously July 23 to appoint Jill E. Johnson to act as principal of Lee H. Kellogg School, with an effective start date of Aug. 10, 2026. Member Scott Miller moved the appointment and Member Maria Bulson seconded; the four members present voted in favor.

The board convened virtually at 9:00 a.m. and moved into a private executive session to discuss the appointment, with Region One Superintendent Melony Brady-Shanley participating, before returning to the public session at 9:10 a.m. The appointment motion was made immediately after the executive session.
