Acton fire department trains on new rescue tools; diesel exhaust system installed with $71,428.57 grant

The Acton Fire Department has taken delivery of a new set of Jaws of Life and is conducting staff training, the Town Administrator reported at the July 15 Select Board meeting. The department thanked voters and the Select Board for approving the purchase. In addition, the Fire Department is installing a diesel exhaust removal system funded by a grant for $71,428.57 with a 5% local match.

Select Board members noted the improvements will support firefighter safety and operations. No additional appropriation was voted at the meeting beyond acknowledging the grant-funded installation; McGurty said the board would continue routine oversight to ensure procurement and budget compliance.
