The Board of Aldermen Committee voted to forward a supplemental agreement with Cochran for professional design engineering services for the Fenpark Drive Improvement Project to the July Board meeting. Public Works Director Dan Howard said the area between Rudder Road and Axminister Drive "essentially becomes a lake" during heavy rainfall and noted the design cost is $97,729.30 and that the City has been awarded $60,000 through the MSD Stormwater Grant to help with design.
The project scope is focused on restoring conveyance in open ditches and reconstructing the roadway; design is included in the 2026 Capital Improvement Plan and construction is tentatively scheduled in the City's 2027 long-range plan. The committee discussion focused on grant funding and sequencing; staff will pursue construction funds under the MSD grant and return to the Board with final agreements and a construction budget.
