Board approves $31,630 improvements to Fabick Nature Preserve overlook; removes metal feature

The Board approved a set of improvements at the Fabick Nature Preserve Overlook totaling $31,630 and instructed staff to remove a metal feature from the helicopter pad. City Administrator Nikki Finkbiner told the committee that vandalism has been increasing "such as removing and throwing loose stones and wall caps from the retaining walls and graffiti" and staff recommended repairs and modest improvements to discourage further damage.

The City had budgeted $20,000 in the 2026 Capital Plan for this area; staff said a mid-year adjustment will be needed to cover the full scope. After discussion the Board opened the matter to the full Board and then voted unanimously to approve the Elite Properties quote and the removal of the metal feature.
