Committee moves multiple service renewals — Nixle, street striping, uniform services — to the Board

Staff presented a set of routine contract and subscription renewals for the Board's consideration. The Everbridge (Nixle) annual subscription would increase from $4,243.60 to $4,370.91 (a 3% proposed increase); staff noted the system currently lists 3,133 registered users and 23,840 voice-contact entries for emergency broadcasts. For street striping, America's Parking and Remarking provided the lowest initial bid at $50,310.11 for 2025 with a 3% option for a second term; staff recommended extending that contract rather than switching vendors. For uniform and laundry services, Vestis (formerly Aramark) proposed a 5% rate increase and staff asked whether to issue an RFP or extend; the committee voted to forward an extension to the July Board meeting.

Committee discussion focused on cost comparisons and contract terms; in one exchange Alderwoman Jokerst asked whether uniform usage and shop-towel counts were accurate and staff confirmed bills reflect actual usage. Final approvals and any multi-year choices were deferred to the full Board.
