Volunteer donation and Amos Fortune marker progress reported at Jaffrey cemetery meeting

Sam Greene, member at large and Village Cemetery overseer, reported to the committee that Historical Society representative Robert (Rob) Stephenson had followed up on a prior offer to purchase and install a teak bench at a town cemetery. "Rob has followed up on his generous offer to buy and install a teak bench similar to the ones currently under the flag pole on Blackberry Lane in the Old Burying Ground," Greene said, speaking for Stephenson. The committee agreed to coordinate placement and timing with Public Works staff.

Peter Lambert, member at large and Phillips-Heil overseer, said work on an Amos Fortune marker is "moving forward," and that he is pursuing estimates and potential funding. Lambert noted that final cost information has been delayed because some people who would provide quotes or approvals are on vacation. The committee did not record a funding source or a completion date; Lambert described the funding pursuit as ongoing.
