Conant Cemetery overseer reports repaired footstone, dead trees; committee lists work sessions

Cathy Proulx, Conant Cemetery overseer and member at large, reported that a small footstone at Conant had been found broken and that her husband Joel had repaired it with epoxy. "I believe it was a mowing issue, not vandalism," Proulx said. She also reported an accumulation of dead trees along the cemetery entry that will affect upcoming maintenance work.

The committee confirmed its 2026 meeting schedule (third Thursday while in session, rain day the following Friday) and listed upcoming meeting locations and dates, including an August 20 work session at the Small Pox Cemetery and an October 15 annual meeting at Town Hall. The meeting adjourned at 4:35. The committee asked Public Works to factor tree removal and repair priorities into the 2026 maintenance plan; no contractor bids or cost estimates were provided in the meeting notes.
