Council approves $158,000 engineering contract for Turtle Creek Village roadway rehabilitation

Public works staff (Michael) explained that stretch of Turtle Creek Village roads sit on "fatty clays" that shrink and swell, requiring more than band‑aid repairs. The recommended engineering contract with WSP USA Inc. would include three geotechnical borings and produce recommendations, likely calling for full‑depth repairs including curb and asphalt replacement. "Contract is for $158,000 and I recommend approval of this contract," Michael said.

Council members asked whether the issues were resident-reported or identified by staff; Michael said both—resident calls and staff driving the city informed the need for a larger improvement. Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution to authorize the contract.
