Courthouse staff report HVAC fixes, pre‑bid schedule and courtroom door replacements

Wesley, building and grounds, told the committee staff found condensate lines that may be recirculating humidity into the women's pod and that a contractor (John Service & Sales) is evaluating the condensate routing; he recommended installing drip kits to fix the humidity problem. "They noticed that the water is filling up... so they think... the condensate is basically going back into the air lines," Wesley said, explaining the apparent cause of persistent humidity complaints.

Wesley also briefed the committee on several facility projects: a pre‑bid meeting for a four‑pipe HVAC conversion scheduled for July 28 with bids due Aug. 13, a July 31 kickoff for jail chiller work, and door replacement for courtrooms (Courtroom 205 and others) because some doors and frames are failing. He said voice‑over‑IP phone installation for elevator phones will start Aug. 3 and that the change is expected to save the county tens of thousands of dollars compared with vendor‑installed phone lines. The committee agreed to follow up as projects advance and to coordinate bids and contractor selection through the usual procurement process.
