Milton Conservation Commission finalizes plans for July BioBlitz

The Milton Conservation Commission finalized plans for a community BioBlitz scheduled for July 25–26, 2026, confirming event schedules, volunteer assignments, technology needs and a Sunday wrap-up at the Grange. Members assigned volunteers to staff registration, help participants use the iNaturalist platform, lead guided walks, coordinate parking and manage the wrap-up session.

Commissioners also discussed promotional materials, participant information packets, vendor participation, educational displays, prizes and sponsorships. The group agreed to prioritize essential event materials and continue confirming vendors and prize donations in the days before the event. Commission members said refreshments would be pursued through donations from local businesses rather than from the Commission budget.

"Volunteers were assigned to staff registration, assist participants with the iNaturalist platform, support guided walks, coordinate parking, and manage the Sunday afternoon wrap-up event at the Grange," the meeting minutes state. The BioBlitz aims to engage volunteers in documenting local biodiversity across Milton parks and trails over the two-day event.
