Canton committee approves 2026 Community Preservation Plan after months of work

The Chair of the Canton Community Preservation Committee said the group "have worked arduously on this over the last several months" as the committee considered the 2026 Community Preservation Plan and its cover details.

Staff told the committee the substantive content changes were limited mainly to updated dates and newly added projects, with the biggest content changes under conservation and housing. After brief discussion about listing names and titles on the report cover, the committee voted to accept the plan as submitted and agreed to update the cover and committee names at the August meeting.

Committee members noted the plan will be revisited for minor cover edits; staff will supply a revised cover for the committee to approve in August. There was no recorded opposition to the motion.
