Multiple members and public commenters urged the Collaborative to prioritize AI governance and malnutrition/nutritional risk in the next cycle. Radhika Pop (BRI member) said AI governance is unavoidable: "This is something we cannot run from. This is something we need to use. We need to understand how to utilize AI in a safe way that supports not only our staff...but also our patients." Several members agreed the Collaborative is well positioned to recommend vendor contracting standards, monitoring expectations and equity checks.
Clinicians also raised malnutrition and nutritional risk—particularly the potential for sarcopenia among patients using GLP‑1 receptor agonists for weight loss. An anesthesiologist and other commenters urged the Collaborative to develop screening and perioperative management pathways for patients experiencing rapid weight loss or malnutrition to reduce adverse surgical outcomes. Both AI governance and malnutrition ranked high in the straw polls and were included among the top six topics to be developed further.
The Collaborative asked staff to include AI governance and malnutrition as prioritized development tracks and to recruit appropriate technical and clinical experts for work groups.
