Council reviews parade route, volunteer needs and sheriff coverage for upcoming event

Council members discussed logistics for an upcoming parade and associated events, including the route, volunteer marshals and traffic control.

Members said the parade route will be longer this year and cited an expectation of increased participation, including Provo City Fire Department units. Council members emphasized the need for volunteer marshals to assist at crosswalks for a 5K and noted the sheriff's department will cover parade traffic control. One member said, "It's gonna be, like, 2 hours long," when characterizing the expected parade duration.

The council discussed staging times for car shows and related events, asked volunteers to support crosswalk safety and agreed to coordinate timing to minimize conflicts with other local activities and road work.
