Commission approves May minutes and names subcommittee chairs

The Flower Mound Cultural Arts Commission voted to approve the minutes from its May meeting and appointed leaders for several subcommittees during its July 23 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes passed on a roll call after members recorded affirmative votes.

Chair called for subcommittee nominations and the commission confirmed Cindy as chair of the roles-and-responsibilities subcommittee, Rebecca as chair of the outdoor-public-art subcommittee and Laverne as chair of a newly formed cultural-arts award subcommittee. The commission also agreed to appoint Cindy and Beth to serve on the awards subcommittee.

The meeting record shows the clerk conducted roll-call voting when minutes and chairs were approved. Commissioners discussed treating the awards group as exploratory, noting any award program that would incur costs should be evaluated before implementation. The commission set a timeline for subcommittees to return with three priority items for the September meeting.
