Commission discusses United Against Hate Week programming; library story time confirmed and options for adult programming explored

The commission discussed a range of activities for United Against Hate Week (Oct. 18–24), weighing a full march versus lighter, discussion-oriented events at the Pleasant Hill Library. Several members suggested partnering with the library for story time and for a subsequent discussion or short documentary screening to reach different age groups.

A member (S5) located the library schedule and confirmed a story time for children ages 0–5 on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Commissioners proposed supplementing the children's program with targeted evening programming for older youth and adults (a short documentary screening, a hate-crime education panel, or bystander-intervention training) to create an opportunity for deeper community conversation.
