Wayne County Commissioners approve $986,703.21 in bills, including major payments for sober-house work and employee benefits

The Wayne County Commissioners on July 16 voted unanimously to approve payment of bills presented by the treasurer, including a General Fund check run totaling $986,703.21 and departmental disbursements across multiple funds.

The approved General Fund check run included two large invoices to Dakan Enterprises—App#7 for $332,066.00 and App#8 for $69,899.90—listed for the WC Women’s Sober House project, and an employee ADC entry of $295,775.71. Departmental totals shown in the minutes included Transportation $16,207.48; Human Services Agency $86,924.11; Children & Youth $356,866.50; BDPEI $87,236.24; 911 $11,581.14; and Health $288,250.99.

Commissioners recorded receipt of the Treasurer’s Report dated July 15, 2026 and approved the check list as presented. The motion to approve the bills was offered and passed unanimously.
