Commissioners approve multiple personnel actions including hires, promotion and a voluntary demotion

The board recorded several personnel actions at the July 16 meeting: acceptance of the resignation of Part-Time Dispatcher John Stevens (effective July 6, 2026) and unanimous rescission of an offer of employment to Stacey Caproni.

The commissioners approved hiring Savannah Yudt as Accountant 1 at the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging, effective Aug. 3, 2026; promoted Tracy Murphy from Clerk Typist 2 to Administrative Assistant 1 at Wayne County Children and Youth, effective July 20, 2026; and approved emergency hire Apolinar Vargas as Caseworker 2 (Intake) effective July 27, 2026. The board also accepted Justin Huffman’s voluntary demotion from Sergeant to Corrections Officer at the Wayne County Correctional Facility, effective July 11, 2026. All motions were unanimous.
