Orford Police report 106 calls in June, several arrests and continuing EMR recertification

Chief Bachus reported the Police Department responded to 106 calls in June, including criminal mischief, domestic disturbance, a shots-fired report, juvenile matters, suicide and thefts. The department made 43 motor-vehicle stops with four summonses issued. He identified arrests connected to ongoing investigations, including one arrest for animal cruelty/neglect and further arrests for criminal threatening, domestic violence/simple assault, and conduct after an accident.

Bachus also told the board he completed the eight-hour national component refresher for his EMR certification and is working on the four-hour state portion and four-hour individual portion. The department and Fire Department will staff the Prouty event on July 11 — Bachus at the Route 10 and Bridge Street intersection while Fire provides medical standby out east.
