Town Manager updates Council on KVCAP housing TIF, $8,655 in auction proceeds and visitor analytics

Town Manager Flewelling briefed the Fairfield Town Council on recent meetings and project updates at the July 8 session. She said staff completed a review of the first draft of Housing TIF documents for the KVCAP project and that a public hearing and Town Council approval will be required once documents are complete.

Flewelling reported that recent sales through Auctions International were successful and, if all bidders pay, the town will receive $8,655.00; she said most of the items sold were related to a historical police robbery investigation and that the funds will go to the Police Drug Interdiction Account. Flewelling also noted she met with Waterville City Manager Nick Cloutier to discuss past and potential partnerships including an Industrial Road extension and issues surrounding potential dam removal.

On economic data, Flewelling told the council that Central Maine Growth Council cellphone analytics show the majority of individuals patronizing Fairfield's restaurants and retail establishments are Waterville residents rather than Fairfield residents. She said committee meeting schedules for the Budget Committee, Ice Arena Committee, and the Environmental Committee are being organized; the Building Committee will meet July 14.
