St. Croix County reports sales-tax gains; March collections $1.13 million

The St. Croix County Administration Committee received a May financial update on July 14, with staff reporting general budget performance is on track and sales-tax receipts showing a notable year-over-year gain.

Dustin, who delivered the review, said the county recorded $1.13 million in March sales-tax collections and that amount is about $300,000 higher than March of last year. "There wasn't really anything too out of the ordinary that jumped out," he said, adding the county remains on pace for budget targets through five months of the year. Committee members asked no substantive follow-up questions about the packet.

The report is part of regular monthly monitoring as staff prepare budget recommendations for 2027. The committee did not take any formal action on the financial report; it was received and filed.
