John Monttovery, a Willow Pond Drive resident, told the Lower Makefield Citizens Traffic Commission that the signal at Willow Pond Drive and Oxford Valley Road used to change quickly when vehicles stopped but recently has begun to wait even when no traffic is present. "It just waits," Monttovery said, asking whether a loop sensor or a timing change could be responsible.
Commissioner Richard Kirk acknowledged the complaint and said the commission would pass the report to the police and the township manager for inspection and possible readjustment. Kirk noted there had been a prior coil (loop detector) issue at the location and said staff would investigate whether the sensor or timing had changed.
The request follows several residents who asked the commission to prioritize easily fixed signal issues in order to reduce queuing and delay. The commission did not set a specific deadline for follow-up at the meeting; Kirk said he would collect contact information and provide an update by email to the resident once staff and police had examined the signal.
