Residents press township on signal timing, crosswalks and sidewalk master plan

Residents raised a string of operational concerns affecting multiple corridors: a signal timing complaint by a resident about congestion where drivers come off the bypass and make left turns toward Wegmans, confusion about a Cardinal/Giant cut‑through used by drivers, and requests to extend blinking crosswalks similar to the one on Oxford Valley near the community center.

Commissioners said some intersections are coordinated with state systems and past filings about timing have been submitted; they warned that new development and existing coordinated timing can complicate changes. A resident asked whether the sidewalk/pathway built with Discover funding could be extended past the golf course to provide a continuous pedestrian route; the commission pointed to the 2019 sidewalk master plan (page 179) as a reference and said staff would check funding and easement options and coordinate with the township liaison.

No formal votes or funding commitments were made at the meeting; commissioners asked residents to provide emails so staff could circulate study documentation and follow up on timing and sidewalk possibilities.
