Four town-owned candidate sites named; Day School site too small for larger consolidations

The design team told the Robinson School Building Committee that, after an initial sweep of roughly 15 private and public parcels, they eliminated privately owned sites for timing and MSBA-eligibility reasons and focused on seven town-owned sites that were further reduced to four developable options: Robinson, Abbott, Day and the Farmer's Way (near Stony Brook Middle School) site.

Designers flagged the Day School site as constrained: "the Day School site is really too small to actually support any additional building," they said, noting the MSBA required the district to study the option but that many criteria were marked NA because the larger footprints do not fit the parcel.

The presenters also explained they evaluated 16 criteria (educational support, traffic/queuing, fit/scale, redistricting impacts, sustainability, and MSBA reimbursement potential) to test each option. The committee advanced seven options for further study across Robinson and Abbott and included Farmer's Way for one of the 705 options; the next step is site selection by the school building committee in late October, after the school committee selects enrollment.
