Committee recommends BP zoning assignment for annexed land near North Range Business Park

The Public Services Committee recommended approval of assigned BP (Business Park) zoning for the property west of Roundtop Road and south of Happy Jack Road that was before the committee for annexation.

Planner Connor White said assigned zoning is required when land is annexed and staff recommended BP for this parcel because it is adjacent to BP zoning on multiple sides, was previously used under county approvals for industrial-style uses, and because the BP zone was created for the North Range annexation. "Staff recommends the BP zone because that is what already exists in the area," White said. The planning commission had recommended approval and no public comments were offered at committee.

A motion to approve the assigned zoning on second reading was moved and seconded; with no discussion the committee voted in favor and will forward the recommendation to the governing body.
