Board gives contractor one week; bond forfeiture discussed for stalled Ash Street project

City staff told the board that final electrical and plumbing inspections for 4934 Ash have repeatedly failed and that no recent inspection calls have been submitted by the contractor. Staff recommended giving the contractor one more week and ordered the owner/contractor to appear on July 30 to demonstrate progress.

Staff member (S9) recommended the one-week extension and said they would contact the contractor directly. Board members discussed enforcement options, including forfeiture of the required $10,000 performance bond if the contractor fails to perform. The board formally set a status hearing for July 30 with an order to appear and said it would consider bond forfeiture if the property remained noncompliant.

The board emphasized the need for the contractor to schedule city inspections to finalize the permits; staff noted the property cannot be removed from the repair/demolish list until final inspections are completed.
