City Manager reports grant awards, paving completions and program updates

City Manager John Salomon delivered the July 20 administrative report, noting grants and public‑works progress. He told the council the city clerk's office "has been awarded a fiscal year 2027 historic documents preservation program grant in the amount of $6,000," which will support ongoing digitization of records dating to 1902 and earlier.

Salomon also reported that Charles Pastor Junior Inc. completed roughly 1.7 miles of roadway improvements this construction season and that structural repairs and skate‑park parking work are complete. The tax office issued July bills and the deadline to pay the July tax installment without penalty is August 3. Human Services reported smaller grants and continued processing of renter‑rebate applications, and Youth & Recreation staff installed an additional community pantry and ran summer programs.
