Committee chairs reported a series of standing items and upcoming meetings. The planning department’s housing and infrastructure study is nearing completion; staff said the infrastructure assessment — the final component — is being consolidated with contributions from multiple departments and will be presented for questions at planning-and-zoning committees and the planning commission.
Separately, the Eastbank ad hoc committee scheduled a meeting for Aug. 28 to discuss transit development zone (TDZ) legislation that is expected to move funding to East Bank projects. Members said finance staff and transportation leaders would provide updates; the committee emphasized the TDZ discussion’s potential to shift project funding and invited members to attend the Aug. 28 session.
Members also previewed a series of community events tied to the parks and greenways program, including a Pages in the Park reading event at Centennial Park, a Cumberland River greenway walk-audit on Aug. 13, and a Sept. 14 parks picnic likely at Morgan Park.
