Community Corrections reports 77 clients and $39,000 grant award

Community Corrections reported 77 total clients — 76 adults and one juvenile — and year-to-date collections of approximately $264,899.68. Todd Whitlock told the council the department was awarded a $39,000 state grant, the same amount as last year, but noted the probation department experienced cuts of about $18,433 in funding elsewhere.

Whitlock said he submitted a revised budget and resubmitted it to the Department of Corrections for approval and that staffing adjustments require filling an entry-level opening created by an internal promotion. "We did get our grant back and we was awarded $39,000," he said, and described the state's mid-year fiscal timing (state fiscal year begins July 1) as the driver of the mid-year budget adjustment.
