Fire chief: arbitration ended in favor of city proposal; contract documents expected in August

Chief Scott Sarver reported that an arbitration decision on collective bargaining followed the city’s proposal and that department and city staff are working to draft the resulting agreement. “The decision was made to go with the city's proposal…So we're working through that with the union and the city staff to create that document, to get it to you guys. Hopefully, I get I think in the 1st part of August,” Sarver said.

Sarver described the outcome as a chance to begin relationship‑rebuilding with the union and said staff would provide the document to the committee once it is finalized for review and any required approval steps. Committee members asked for continued updates and expressed interest in the details when the written agreement is available.
