BCTC summer projects approved; East Campus roof damage may require special meeting

The board received a report from Burke's Career & Technology Center on summer capital projects—roofing, boilers, walk-in refrigeration and procurement of a bucket truck to support the electrical program—and was briefed on storm damage at East Campus that affected several classrooms. The presenter said some ceiling and floor work will be required and that staff "may have to pull a special meeting for the BCTC members just to get in and do some quick approvals" to move repairs forward.

Staff also provided an update on athletic-field permitting, noting that the district is awaiting county conservation approvals and that an accelerated review process may result in a realistic approval timeline in late summer. The board asked for monthly updates while permitting and repair work proceed.
