Parks board endorses converting seasonal worker to full-time role; council to consider in budget

Council member Chris told the council the Parks Board voted unanimously to support converting one of the park seasonal workers into a full-time position. "They passed a unanimous motion to in support of that concept," he said, adding that the position would help with equipment maintenance and help Lanier administer recreation programs.

Chris said the proposal will be examined during the budget cycle and more specifics will be provided at that time. Members asked clarifying questions about the role; Chris said the intent is to improve maintenance response times and to reduce the workload on current staff administering recreation programs.
