Commission staff presented two related administrative items on July 22: a formal withdrawal from the Massoya Greyhound Association (MGA) of its Category 2 sports-wagering application and a separate withdrawal by Caesars' related qualifiers. Justin Stempic said the MGA had applied in 2023 and that Caesars' separate letter dated August 17, 2023 was the last notification the commission received; both withdrawals were presented as administrative cleanup to clear pending matters dating to that application cycle.
"This is really a matter of doing some administrative cleanup so that they can file a formal withdrawal to close out that pending process," Stempic said. Commissioner Hill moved that the commission find good cause and approve the MGA withdrawal, and later moved to approve Caesars' related withdrawal; both motions were approved unanimously (5-0). The commission acknowledged the filings are procedural steps to clear the docket from applications that never advanced to active partnerships or new operator filings.
