The Planning Board received an update on the board's Chapter 61 parcel review on July 21, and members were told that consultant David Cameron is about halfway through the review and expects to finish by the end of August.
A board member said Cameron is using the parameters the board previously agreed on to assess each parcel and will assemble his findings into a report for the board's review. The member summarized the planned approach: Cameron will highlight different aspects of each parcel rather than provide a single numeric 'scorecard' ranking. "He's about halfway through and... he said the end of August and then he'll put it together and send us a report," the member said.
Board members recalled that at least two years earlier a Chapter 61 parcel (Interlaken) drew town meeting attention, and they said the current review is intended to provide a baseline of facts and parcel‑specific notes to avoid surprises at future town meetings. The board discussed next steps for reviewing Cameron's report when it arrives and whether to invite him to present his findings to the board.
No formal action was taken on the Chapter 61 review at the meeting; the board will consider Cameron's report when submitted.
