TWC appoints former AEL student Patrice Anaba to Adult Education and Literacy advisory committee

Kathy Zarati of the Workforce Development Division presented a recommendation to appoint Patrice Anaba to the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) advisory committee, noting statutory requirements under the Texas Labor Code and Texas Administrative Code that the committee include a business representative and a local workforce board representative. "For your consideration today, staff recommends the appointment of one new member, Patrice Anaba, a former AEL student and entrepreneur," Zarati said.

A commissioner moved to appoint Anaba to a two‑year term through July 2028; the motion was seconded and approved. The appointment will add a member with lived experience in adult education to the advisory body responsible for advising the Commission on AEL policy and program alignment.
