TWC adopts FY2027 TANF, SNAP ENT and ES allocations and directs $29.76M child‑care supplemental to direct care

Chris Nelson, chief financial officer, presented the recommended FY2027 allocations. He said the TANF Choices allocation is $74,424,217 along with a $266,594 small board distribution. The Employment Services (ES) allocation was described as $28,587,881 with a small‑board distribution noted; the transcript includes a differently formatted figure for the SNAP/ENT allocation that staff provided in the packet and asked commissioners to keep items separate for motion purposes. Nelson also said staff identified $29,760,000 in quality funds available to reallocate into direct child‑care payments and recommended doing so.

A commissioner moved that the Commission adopt the FY2027 TANF, SNAP ENT and ES allocations and the child‑care supplemental allocations as recommended by staff; the motion was seconded and passed. Commissioners thanked staff for seeking additional funds to support children in care.
