Resident recounts repeated crashes at Whitney curve and urges action

During the public-comment portion, resident Maggie Falls described persistent crashes at a curve near the dam and at Whitney Road, told the committee she had directed traffic during a recent crash, and urged the committee to address recurring hazardous locations. She said resurfacing and recent paving on Route 87 has increased speeds and raised community safety concerns.

Falls told the committee she was "very happy to hear about a transportation committee being formed because I think it needs to be very much so" and urged members to include the problem locations in any planning or grant requests. Committee members thanked her and noted the committee will use problem-report data and CRAG crash tables to help prioritize locations for camera deployment or intersection improvements.
