Board approves FY26 educator development MOU with Commit Partnership

The Duncanville ISD board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Commit Partnership intended to boost educator certification and support the district’s compliance with state teacher certification requirements.

Pamela Brown presented the agreement and told trustees the partnership will fund a certification pathway lead, provide exam preparation tools and modules, and assist with teacher incentive allotment data submission and process guidance. Brown said the pathway lead will receive a $13,000 stipend paid from the grant and that "there is no financial obligation for Duncanville ISD under this agreement." The board was told the partnership term will run from August 2026 through June 2027 and that the organization will primarily receive and use teacher-level (not student identifiable) data to monitor implementation and provide targeted support.

Trustees asked clarifying questions about data protections and the district’s responsibilities; Brown said district staff will submit certification progress data monthly and participate in required grant meetings and professional learning. The board moved and approved the MOU.
