Trustees reviewed a first read of exterior appearance plans for commercial buildings at 6, 8–10 West First Street in the downtown B2 historic district. Applicant Peter said work includes replacing siding, windows and doors, adding black shutters, installing new roofing and light fixtures, and adding three skylights; two buildings will receive façade updates and one rear door will be reoriented for visibility from West First Street.
Peter said a new condenser unit will be placed behind an existing screened area; staff noted Plan Commission and Historic Preservation Commission reviews and unanimous recommendations for approval with a suggestion to add flower boxes once tenants are in place. The work is intended as a repair-and-replace façade update to preserve building character while readying spaces for boutique retail tenants; the item will return for a second read in August.
