County Clerk seeks to fund principal legal recording clerk; committee approves

County Clerk Carrie told the committee the request to fund a principal legal recording clerk and to unfund one legal recording clerk had previously been pulled because staff could not identify which position to unfund. Carrie said the posting process began earlier this cycle and staff can now identify the position that will be left vacant through promotion, so no additional budget authority is needed and the money is already in the budget.

Supervisor Strainer moved the item to the floor and Supervisor Turner seconded; the committee approved the item by voice vote. County staff confirmed the request does not create a new FTE but will reclassify and promote internally as needed.
