Library commissioners refine 2026–27 goals, agree to milestone calendar before September

Commissioners spent much of the July 20 meeting refining the 2026–27 work plan, clarifying that one goal should focus on reviewing existing programs and services while a separate goal should address potential future gaps tied to projected residential development. The group removed wording such as “potential” where it created ambiguity, and discussed benchmarks for estimated population increases.

The commission also agreed to adopt a milestone calendar of deliverables so subcommittees and ad hoc teams can complete focused tasks between public meetings. Staff and commissioners said the milestone calendar will be drafted for discussion at the August meeting and finalized in September so the full commission can track progress across the 12-meeting year.
