The Town of Hochatown Board of Trustees was told this month that staff secured a $300,000 grant from the Oklahoma Finance Authority to fund work on Camp Branch Road.
A staff presenter (speaker S3) told trustees the town "presented a grant opportunity for $300,000 for Camp Branch Road, and we were awarded that at said meeting," adding that construction on Camp Branch Road began Dec. 9 with dirt preparation already under way. S3 also reported a permit had been obtained from the "court of engineers" and that the town completed obstruction clearing on the Yashaw Creek line to address flooding.
The presenter described additional, ongoing gravel- and dirt-road maintenance across the municipal area intended to prepare roads for the holiday season and thanked contractors by name in the record for helping to reach the standard. Trustees asked for follow-up details and were told staff would provide calculations and final drainage plans for Choctaw Hills once engineering information is returned.
No formal vote was required for the grant report; staff invited follow-up questions and offered to provide detailed project schedules and cost breakdowns on request. The board did not set a final construction timeline at the meeting; staff indicated they would return with specifics once engineering calculations are complete.
