Design team shows revised massing, material palette and energy targets

Architects presented massing studies and facade options intended to better fit the neighborhood scale and to express CTE programs in the building palette. Patrick (design lead) described stepping the end bars to create a two‑story expression along Highland Avenue, introducing textured masonry ends and sun‑screening to animate facades while keeping overall proportions sensitive to nearby single‑family homes.

On energy performance, Patrick said the team is using detailed hourly energy modeling to size PV and shading and aims for a blended glazing percentage near 25% as a target for 0‑net‑energy performance and budget control. "We're trying to stay at 25% to make the energy modeling work for the 0 net energy goal," he said. The team plans full‑size mockups of materials for committee review before final selections.
