County to affirm city‑selected transit board appointee at upcoming meeting, commissioners say

Commission staff and commissioners discussed board appointments to the Great Falls Transit Authority after the city selected a candidate for an elected board position that had been open. County staff noted two positions had at times gone unfilled and said the city moved forward with an appointment at its meeting, prompting a question about the county's role in affirming the selection.

A staff member referenced the governing statute in saying the city and county must jointly identify and appoint transit board members: "...the statute says that the city and the county have to come together and identify and appoint whoever," (speaker 7). Commissioners said the county would put the item on a future agenda to affirm the city's selection.
